Shibuya (渋谷) is one of the most popular places for the young and here you can feel the energy of young Tokyoites. It is often used for filming locations and the famous crossing and the statue of the faithful dog, Hachi are just in front of Shibuya station. You can see all these places on our Tokyo Traditions and Trends tour.

Statue of Hachi, a faithful dog(忠犬ハチ公像)

One of the most famous meeting places in Japan is the statue of Hachi and this faithful Akita dog continued to wait 11 years at Shibuya station for his master who met an unfortunate demise on his way home.

Shibuya Crossing(渋谷スクランブル交差点)

As all the traffic lights for pedestrians turn blue at once at this scramble crossing, you must be astonished by the crowds of people swarming across it. You can see well from the Starbucks on the 2nd floor of the building just next to the crossing (there a DVD and music shop called Tsutaya on the first floor), or the bridge corridor linking the JR station with Shibuya Mark City complex.
