Clean City Tokyo
Question: How are the streets of Tokyo kept so clean? Why is there little to no trash on the streets?
Answer: As you might notice, many Japanese people don't eat or drink on the street and this leads to a reduction in trash. There is also no trash bins on the street and you will only find trash bins in front of convenience stores or on station platforms. As a result many people tend to keep their garbage to themselves until they get home. It's considered bad manners to leave your trash on the streets.
